On February 4th every year, the whole world takes a moment to mourn the lives of heroes taken by the deathly disease, cancer. Experts across the globe are spending days and nights to come up with solutions meant to avail the best treatment to those infected. Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) has been on the forefront in this campaign.
In the recent past, CTCA teamed up with NantHealth and Allscripts to create a custom technical solution (clinical pathways). This advancement allows a doctor at CTCA to easily access clinical workflows in the Allscripts Sunrise electronic health record (EHR). Using the data extracted, the doctor can easily decide on the diagnosis method to apply on each patient. This particular program contains data from various experts in the field of oncology across the world.
Acccording to Wikipedia, the clinical pathway is centered on the patient’s treatment progress. The fact that the program holds thousands of treatment processes posted by various oncologists reduces cases of doctors in Cancer Treatment Centers of America using guess works on diagnosis. The program has also ensured that a patient’s clinic visits remain as staged by the fact that it provides real-time solutions by just a tap at the screen. Also, the program has created a transparency in the treatment process by the fact that the patients are involved in treatment process.
About Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA)
CTCA was established in 1988 by Richard J Stephenson. Richard’s mother had been diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately died. According to Richard, enough was not being done in the clinics of that time to diagnose the disease. Therefore, Richard dedicated his entire life to offering cancer patients with the best treatment options available.
Richard opened his first CTCA hospital at Zion, Illinois. Today, CTCA has an additional of four more hospitals scattered in the United States in the major metropolitan areas. Richard has staffed his centers with the best oncologists to ensure that the patients access the best form of treatment available. Today, the Centers have a reputation of successfully offering treatments using conventional approaches.
