Tim Ioannides On Running His Own Practice

Not many dermatologists can say they own their own practice that they built from the ground up which has expanded vastly over the years but Tim Ioannides is one of the few who can. So what’s the secret to his immense success in the field of dermatology? He recently had a chat with George Baker where he discussed his life’s work and his hopes for the future.

After receiving his MD and completing his residency at the University of Miami School of Medicine, he went on to complete a rather impressive internship at the University of Florida School of Medicine Health Center. Once his training was complete, Tim began working in the private sector. Despite succeeding in this sector, he realized it wasn’t for him so he decided to create his own practice.

In particular, one of the things that makes Treasure Coast Dermatology is unique is the fact that they attempt to create trusting and positive relationships with their patients as part of the treatment process. They also try and detect any potential skin conditions before they even manifest symptoms so they can nip it in the bud.

An average workday begins at six in the morning whereupon he tries to get in a good workout before heading to the office. When asked about the future of dermatology, Ioannides expressed his excitement at the potential of finally synthesizing a cure for skin disease as well as the immense progress the scientific community has made over the years.

One of the pieces of advice Tim Ioannides gave to those looking to follow in his footsteps is to ensure that they’re passionate about the field of study in which they enter. He recommends that they read a book entitled how to win friends and influence people as he believes it will help.

Tim tells all of his patients to get more vitamin D because he thinks it is so important. He also tells them to try to get 10 to 15 minutes of sun every day, without sunscreen on.
