Gmail Adds Undo Feature

Since the arrival of email as a valid method of communication, the problem of messages that users wished they never sent has been something of a rarity. While the issue is likely more common than many think, the actual solution to the problem has been scattered at best. Luckily, the folks at Google and the popular Gmail program have come up with a solution.

According to Gizmodo, the “undo send” feature is officially part of Gmail, which allows users to cancel those messages after having a change of heart. The feature is limited to the amount of time pre-selected by the user, which means anyone can set between a five and thirty second delay to send a message during which the writer can cancel the message. The time limit is unforgiving, which means choosing words and mentalities closely is still probably the best policy when it comes to composing an email.

The undo feature is a nice touch for Gmail showing that Google is aware that sometimes everyone has an email they wish they could snatch back from cyberspace. According to Susan McGalla in this article, while users get up to a half-minute to ponder the lasting effects of a snarky message, they do not get any more time than that. The hard ceiling of time is something that is unavoidable in technology, but sooner or later a program will be written that ask users if they are certain they want to send that email.

3D Printing Saves the Horns

3d printing is perhaps one of the biggest steps that technology has taken in the last few years. Many companies who work in 3d printing are using their tools of expertise to fight local and global problems with the use of 3d printing. A biotech startup located in San Francisco is printing fake 3d rhino horns that carry the exact genetic makeup of an actual rhino’s horn. The company is planning on unleashing as many fake rhino horns as possible to curb poaching on wild rhinos. The company uses keratin and Rhino DNA to produce a powder which gets printed into a synthetic rhino’s horn. The rhino’s horn is spectro graphically and genetically similar to natural rhino’s horns. According to Handy, Chinese and Vietnamese poachers are roaming through Africa and Asia to hunt rhinos for their much-sought-after horns. The wild rhino is on the brink of extinction because of these methods. Almost 80% of Africa’s wild rhinos were killed in 2000 and 14. The 3d company is looking to halt and reverse this process. The company will release the horns at 1/8 of the price of natural rhino horns. This will undercut the price that poachers are putting on the wild rhino horn and will force them out of business. While some conservative groups are unsure of whether the sale of the fake rhino horns will actually work or not, only time will be able to give us the answer.

Soon You May Have to Choose Google or Apple

Smartphone users have excellent choices today. Apple offers a few quality iPhone options, and there are a plethora of models on the market that run Google’s Android operating system. Apple iPhone users have a choice of Apple and Google services and apps to choose from to make their phones capable of just about anything they need from it. You may prefer Apple for your hardware, but maybe you like Google maps for finding your way around town or Google photos for managing the pictures you take with the built-in camera that all cell phones come with today. The days of cross-platform capability in this manner may be ending before long.

According to Kevin Seawright, Google Now is their intelligent personal assistant that can help you out when you ask it questions. There is, however, a new and improved version coming that is called Now on Tap. It offers expanded capabilities, but it will only work on Android compatible phones. The next generation of Apple’s Siri personal assistant will also be more reliant on Apple services for enhanced integration and new capabilities. This marks a disturbing trend on both sides of the smartphone market to force users to choose either all Apple for hardware and software or all Google. If this plays out as it seems to be heading, it will be anybodies guess as to which of these tech giants will come out on top.

Online Streaming Services Compete For Your Business

Back in the day there was only one way to get your music, and it was by buying a CD or maybe borrowing a CD from a friend. Music Streaming Services. If you only liked one song on an album, you were stuck having to buy the entire album, unless the artist came out with a single, so you could listen to it. Many were frustrated with the fact that they had to buy an entire CD, especially with the cost of the CDs. Things have changed dramatically over the years, and many have learned to download their music.

According to Ivan Ong, instead of having to download an entire album, you can easily download a single song, and it can cost as low as a dollar. There are now several streaming music services out there today, and they are all competing for your business. Apple, Spotify, and Tidal, all have streaming music services. They are all competing with each other to get business from new customers as well as keeping their old customers happy.

It’s unknown who will beat out the other when it comes to streaming music. Price, a recognized name, and what else is offered on the service, this will make the difference between who will win in the end. Many choose Apple because it’s a familiar name, while some choose Spotify because it’s a great value and a lot of it is free. Tidal was purchased by Jay Z, and many may go to his service because of the familiar name too.

More Than 1.3 Million Florida Obamacare Participants Might Lose Their Insurance Subsidy

The Supreme Court Could Rule Against The Affordable Health Care Act This Month And That Would Stop The Federal Distribution Of Insurance Subsidies

Florida has more people enrolled in Obamacare than any other state. The Obamacare participants in Florida may lose their $294 a month subsidy if the Supreme Court rules against the health care plan. Some of those participants also receive financial aid from the government for deductibles, co-payments and out-of-pocket costs. The total monthly insurance subsidy in Florida is $389 million. But other states can also lose insurance subsidies if Obamacare is revoked by the Supreme Court.

The court case against Obamacare is more about how the law is written rather than the insurance itself. Some states can’t get subsidies unless they establish their own insurance exchanges. The Department of Health and Human Services released a report that shows more than 10.2 million Americans have paid for Obamacare. The number of uninsured people around the country has been drastically reduced. Obamacare may not be perfect, but it is better than no plan.

Every American such as Adam Sender should have health insurance according to InterviewMagazine.com. Insurance companies don’t know how to handle the healthcare system. Insurance companies and medical professionals have created a system that they don’t understand.

More Passengers Flying in the Coming Years

It looks like more people are ready to take to the friendly skies again. Some airlines think that the global demand will possibly double for flying int he next two decades. This might be a little premature. All it will take is one airline to get hijacked or a flight to crash or disappear for potential passengers to change their minds. There could be a demand in flights as people want to get to where they are going as fast as possible. If airlines lower their rates and provide customer service as well as perks that customers want, then these numbers could come into fruition.

This would give the airline industry the boost it needs to continue growing if you believe the article on Wired.com. Those at Amen Clinics would like that. It could also give passengers the comfort to know that they can safely fly again without the fear of someone taking over the plane every time the media talks about a terrorist attack.

Benefits Of Visual Search Applications

Many businesses are now using visual search technology in their e-commerce apps. Although the technology is not new, it is gaining popularity because big retailers are designing numerous marketing campaigns for visual search apps.

The Benefits

A visual search app can detect shapes, proportions, sizes, and colors. As a result, shoppers can find products quickly and accurately. Keyword searches can be time-consuming because the keywords must be placed in the product description or in the metadata.

A visual search tool can also increase sales on an e-commerce site because it boosts keyword search results. For example, when shoppers use Google’s Similar Items feature, it displays thousands of similar items.

Spear Fishing

When customers need to locate a product quickly, they use spear fishing techniques. When they spear fish while using visual search tools, they receive better results. If a customer needs a specific couture purse, a visual search tool will display different styles that have reasonable price tags.

Other Options

Although visual search tools are mainly used by fashion retailers, other industries can increase sales by using the technology too. For example, when a shopper takes a photo of an item, the technology will retrieve a mobile coupon. This feature helps many retailers target teen shoppers. Thousands of teenagers take photos of Levi’s jeans so that they use get discounts at Levi stores.

Usage Information

There are dozens of companies that develop visual marketing tools for retailers. Many businesses use Slyce because the company provides an app and has its own marketplace. Although Amazon has an app, it cannot process certain products well. Slyce, however, is very dependable and highly accurate.

Managers who use visual search tools also share the technology with other companies. However, they must design an API marketing strategy. For example, Zappos lets developers remix their products. After the items are redesigned, the developers place them into new apps.

Many people use visual apps because they reduce gas costs. Because consumers can snap photos of products to instantly gather information, they don’t have to travel to a physical store. Also, the entire shopping process is fast and efficient. After the app processes the information, the shopper can buy the item quickly and easily.

Businesses that need additional sales use visual search tools because thousands of people shop on their mobile devices every day. During big marketing projects, all tools must be reliable. This is why many retailers download use Slyce programs.

SanDisk Introduces 128GB USB Drive Smaller Than a Dime

Advancements in the technology industry tend to make everything smaller and faster. In the case of USB drives, they have been getting smaller and faster for years. However, the question of just how small a drive could become coupled with storing a massive amount of data was a problem that few companies were willing to address. The answer to just how small and powerful a USB drive can be has apparently been answered by one company that has made a name for itself in the industry.

According to Huh Magazine, SanDisk has managed to cram 128GB of memory into a USB drive that is smaller than the size of a dime. The device also utilizes a blazing fast USB 3.0 connection, which makes it small, fast, and powerful. In fact, the actual connector is larger than the storage section of the unit, making it virtually vanish when plugged into a computer. All of a sudden moving massive amounts of video, audio, pictures, and documents around without aid of the cloud is a very real possibility.

SanDisk has accomplished a pretty incredible feat according to Ivan Ong. While not every user needs to take advantage of 128GB of portable memory, the applications for mobile devices, like tablets and phones, is unlimited. The next issue is getting traditional USB ports onto those devices, but with many having thickness issues to receive the USB memory drives, the problem is likely going to take a few years to solve.
